I found this quote the other day and thought you might find it insightful.

Opportunity for each according to ability or achievement means without the tyranny of a majority race or discrimination of private businesses. It means equal protections under the laws and the freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness. All of which are impossible with widespread discriminatory practices as they were in 1964 and in many instances, still exist today.
Rand Paul, you were wrong. Only a person who has never been subjected to blatant discrimination would hold such a position. Only a person who who would never be denied entry to a private business would promote such actions. Only a person who has never been denied medical treatment, a home loan, a meal, safe passage, a movie showing or access to higher education would find their position defensible.
