Dead Beat Dad: Kelvin Cato in the Club

Recently I have been told numerous stories of men that have participated in the conception of a child but have fallen short of their fatherly duties. Someone had to expose these men for the frauds they perpetrate. Someone had to warn the masses of the predators that lurk. The first dead beat dad to be exposed will be none other than Mr. Kelvin Cato. Mr. Cato was born December 12, 1984 and has left a foul smell of irresponsibility along his path. Mr. Kelvin Cato has a sporadic and spotty record of employment and is an Oklahoma State University dropout but claims he is currently pursing a bachelors degree in criminal justice from ITT Technical Institute (Online). At 5’8″ tall, he is short in stature; being unemployed, he is short on funds; as a college dropout, he is short on education; and as this article will show, he is short on fulfilling responsibilities. He is the father of a 3 year old daughter by one mother and a 2 year old son and 1 month old daughter by another woman. In both these instances, Mr. Cato has failed miserably to meet his financial and fatherly obligations.
In the case of this oldest daugher, according to the Department of Health and Human Services, he is indebted to the mother $14,000. Shortly after the a deposition hearing in November, Mr. Cato texted the mother of his child, “I would rather spend my entire life in jail than give you one dime.” When asked recently if he could participate financially with her birthday party, he replied that he did not have the funds. When asked if he intended to purchase his 3 year old daughter a Christmas gift, he again replied that he did not have the funds. It appears that Mr. Kelvin Cato stayed up all night to be at the store when it opened to ensure he was able to purchase the $175 a pair sneakers. Meanwhile, the mother of his child was working for a meager wage to try and provide a decent Christmas for his daughter.
In the case of his youngest 2 children, Mr. Cato has developed a pattern of moving in and out of their lives based upon employment. Sources say that Mr. Cato never remains employed for more than 6-9 months at a time and while he is employed, he usually maintains an apartment as a location for devouring his prey. While he is unemployed, Mr. Cato lives with the mother of his two youngest children.
Mr. Kelvin Cato’s troubles have not been limited to the mother’s of his children, they also include brushes with law enforcement and jail time. Here is a list of just the easily accessible instances:
- October 2004 – An emergency protective ordered issued on Kelvin Cato. This is just the first of two protective orders requested by two different female plaintiffs.
- October 2005 – Oklahoma State Campus Parking vs. Kelvin Cato – It appears that Mr. Cato felt the parking rules of the campus did not apply to him. After receiving the fines for his parking transgressions, Mr. Cato disregarded them and soon found himself in front of a judge answering for his actions.
- August 2007 – State of Oklahoma vs. Kelvin Cato for a bogus check under $500. Yet another example of Mr. Cato engaging in an action and allowing others to pay for the repercussions. It appears that Mr. Cato was arrested on this charge and the bond and fines were paid by his grandfather.
- October 2007 – An emergency protective ordered issued on Kelvin Cato. This is the second of two protective orders requested in the State of Oklahoma against Mr. Kelvin Cato.
- October 2009 – Department of Human Services vs. Kelvin Cato. This is the first of two depositions of Mr. Cato involving child support.
- November 2009 – Department of Human Services vs. Kelvin Cato. This is the second of two depositions of Mr. Cato involving child support.
- Numerous traffic violations in Tulsa and Osage Counties in which the fines were paid by his grandfather.

Update: Twenty-four hours after posting this article, Mr. Cato contacted the mother of his oldest child and informed her that he purchased a gift for his daughter. If you will recall, Mr. Cato was quoted as saying he didn’t have the funds for a Christmas gift but was able to miraculously purchase a $175 pair of Air Jordan shoes for himself. The gift for the oldest child was a $65 gift card for the mall. What father purchases their 3 year old child a gift card? What father spends $175 or shoes for himself and gives their child a gift card several days after Christmas? Sources have indicated that Mr. Cato may be guilty of “re-gifting”
Update: Subsequent to this article, Mr. Cato did not contact his daughter for 10 days and only made contact after the mother of the younger 2 children contacted the mother of the oldest child and asked if the kids could all see each other.
Update: Sources have informed JamesJonesPost.com that the mother of Mr. Cato’s youngest two children asked him to pack his belongings and leave her residence because he had the audacity to start an argument over her tax returns. It has been reported that Mr. Cato wanted to purchase a motorcycle with a portion of her tax returns. JamesJonesPost.com found this revelation to be particularly peculiar because Mr. Cato was unemployed, several payments behind on his vehicle and had no car insurance on file with the department of motor vehicles.
Update: Shortly after being evicted from the residence, with no job, no car insurance, nothing paid to child support, no contact with his oldest daughter and presumably no money, Mr. Cato was witnessed in club rehab (photo evidence below) living the life while the mothers of his children struggle to make ends meet and fulfill their monthly obligations. We have managed to locate the one female seen in each of these photos and have notified her of Mr. Cato and his irresponsible habits.
I have a another deadbeat dad story for you-involving my ex husband, a so called “man of God” who has 3 ex wives, at least 3 sets of kids and no sense of being a father what so ever. It is extremely bothersome to me because he is claiming to be this prophet working God’s will and obeying the word of God, the church is having enough problems without infedels like this making it worse. People see this sort of thing going on and unfortunately it is a reflection on the church as a whole-especially the black churches. I hope you can bring this matter to light and help expose these clowns for what they really are…….thanks for your time.
James I want to pat you on the back. I think these dead beat dad’s need to be put on blast.That will prevent other women from falling prey to their lies and alibis.
this is an example of young men who need positive role models in their lives to show them first what it means to be a man and second to set an example to them on what it is to be a ‘father’ rather than a ‘seed-planter’ to your children. It angers me that 3 young lives will be affected in this mess that he is making with his life. And it is an example to young women everywhere to get to know the person that you are involved with before you decide to have children with them…..use protection. Protect your future ladies!
It seems Mr. Cato needs to learn more about grammar and punctuation. He has only ventured at saying you don’t “know him” with poorly worded and structured paragraphs. Nothing to say ‘I would love to be involved in my childrens lives, but at current you are correct I do not have the means to offer my support’. And as evident, his life is more consumed with the fleeting things of this world. In 2 months when another new pair of crappy sneakers shows up at the local foot locker, his awesome space jams will be old news and his children will once again suffer his selfishness.
Since I do not personally know Mr. Cato I can only say this…stop taking everything so personally and think about your actions. Take some time and think about how your actions now are affecting your kids futures. Maybe the same thing happened to you, no father, no male role-model in your life…is that something you want to pass on to the next generation? It’s a cycle that needs to be broken, maybe it can start with you. Maybe you had a father and he was awful….maybe that cycle needs to be broken as well. Maybe you has the BEST father in the world…would he be proud of you for the choices you are making today? Are the sneakers that trudge through the mud more important than a life you helped create?

Wow funny u can blast my info on facebook but yet you don’t know me at all I’ve never heard of you nor know who you are I assume you know the mother of my daughter trinity I tell you this lil blog thing or what ever you call it is quite funny I’m not going to curse you or even threathen you it’s nit worth it and you obviously have way to much time on your hand to write this dead beat dad blog when your not the person nor the child nor the woman ask any of my close friends or ask my other kids mother if ud like a true comment about my fathering skill or am I good dad all I can say james e jones get a life grow up and worry about your self and keep my personal things off facebook cause it’s none of your concern

Make no assumption as to who I have spoken with. I can assure you that my information has been provided by more than one source. In fact, here is an except from a message I received from the mother of your youngest two children, “How did you get all this info and once again don’t include me in it!” There was no denial of any of the information posted, only a request that I not include her name in connection with yours.
To your assertion that I need to grow up and get a life. Coming from you, it’s laughable but I’ll take it under advisement.
